Prayer - how to pray to impress God?

While that maybe sounds a little silly, many people struggle with praying to impress God on some level.
It is that thinking that maybe if you 'nail it' with all the right words and phraseology, that God might give it special attention? That God could be more likely to answer in your favour?

Jesus 'nailed it' when it shared a parable about two dudes going to the temple to pray...

10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’
13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ Luke 18:10-13 niv

Jesus goes on to say that the dude who humbled himself, was honest, who gave into God and His sovereignty was heard more.
There is something we can all learn from this simple example.
Let's keep it simple, honest, full of heart.
Let's pray like He is listening and that He sits on the throne of Heaven.
I think that is the type of prayer Gods likes best...

Something to think about...
