Pursuit of Happiness - Part 4

I think having the right sort of people in your life can make a difference to your level of happiness.

You can never underestimate this!

If you have ever been in a time of life without much friendship ( I know I have ), then those feelings of loneliness certainly strip any chance of happiness away.
Maybe you know of what it is like to have friends that while maybe are fun to be around, sometimes seem to suck the life out you or get you to do things you know you shouldn’t.
And maybe you have friends, but if you are honest no real friendship or depth of relationship. They would be friends but not who you could trust or ever rely upon.

I personally think that God has ordained friendships that will bring out the best in you...and you will in turn will bring out the best of in them back.
This criteria and the style of friendship might seem a little different to what you are possibly used to?

Godly friendships are ones that are considered and thought about before just racing into...

Proverbs 12:26
The righteous choose their friends carefully

Godly friendships determine to never let it each other down with gossip and slander...

Proverbs 17:9
Whoever would foster love covers over an offense, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends.

Godly friends are for the tough times not just the good...
Those times help ‘prove out’ who the real friends are!

Proverbs 17:17
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.

Godly friends are willing to tell you the things you need to hear, not just what you want to hear...

Proverbs 27:6
Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.

Proverbs 27:9
Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart, and the pleasantness of a friend springs from their heartfelt advice.

So to wrap this thought all up nice and simply...
Have the right friends in your life.
Get rid of the wrong ones.
Be a friend and accept the friend.

That will go a long way to improving your chances of being happy.

Something to think about...
